My Sunday is blessed by reading the blogs of Rev. Suzanne Wagner and Nick ____. Suzanne, the former Associate Pastor at First Church Congregational in Fairfield CT is in Israel and every day includes in her blog beautiful pictures of Jerusalem in the summer. Views of lush fruit vie with scenes from the shore of the Dead Sea. This morning she described “Sound Jerusalem” a chamber music festival in which 75 excellent artists from all over the world perform on the roofs and in churches of the old city.
Then I turn to the blog of my son’s best friend at Fairfield High. He’s now working in Seoul, Korea and playing gigs with his Tenor Sax in his spare time. He tells of venturing to the rooftop of his former apartment building and wailing on his saxophone.
Here I am in Augusta, Maine enjoying the wonders of high tech and the global village and thinking about the melodies rising from two points on our whirling planet.
I commend you to each other.
