I had to pick up some fancy paper at the stationary store, which always leads to some impulsive purchase. This time was no different. I couldn’t resist the urge to pick up this shiny new English notebook:
In case you’re too lazy to click on the picture the green text reads
“Fighter pilots must be in excellent [...]

This is a flashback post, i.e. I wrote it on my old myspace blog over a year ago. I happened to receive some comments on that blog today which gave me this idea. Why write new material when I can republish old writing that you’ve never read. I notice a bit of evolution in my [...]

I started developing a terrible cold and sore throat last Thursday. By Friday, I could barely breathe or move and didn’t feel up to braving the below zero weather for a trek to the doctor’s office. Symptoms continued to worsen, especially after I played to gigs on Saturday night and didn’t rest much Sunday either. [...]

Major Korean company GS has opened a new online shop/community called 스토킹/Stalking. ‘S + talking = Stalking’, which is true only stalking was already a word with a much different meaning. Supposedly you talk about things that start with the letter S. To quote the Metro article these topics include “Style, Shopping, She, Success, [...]

I haven’t been keeping up with the blog as much as I’d like. This is primarily because I’ve had a lot of editing work to do lately and am also trying to prepare for my upcoming class “Crucial Skills for Scientific Presentations”, which is in the midst of a format change due to the increased [...]

Lately I’ve been trying to read the Metro (Seoul) newspaper on a daily basis for three basic reasons: it’s free, easy to find and completely in Korean. I can understand maybe about 5% of it, but through cross-referencing I usually retain a couple/few new words a day. Today’s highlight, from ‘An issue word a day’, [...]

No it’s not the start of a racist joke, it’s just the end of year party at my college. We dined at a Chinese restaurant (I meant to grab their card) famous for Peking Duck, which was excellent, but I wasn’t crazy about the seafood-laden side-dishes. One of these looked like a plate of mushrooms [...]
