Last Thursday, Bo Young and I went to go visit Ji Eun and her new baby boy at the hospital. He is so 큐트! (cute!)
He was born at 5:05AM on October 23rd, weighing in at 3.6kg ~ 7 lbs 15 oz.
They had yet to name him, but were calling him 상큼 (Sangkum) which means sour, [...]

I went to Nagwon Arcade on Sunday with my friend Adam. Nagwon Arcade is a giant music mall with over 200 stores selling instruments, recording gear and accessories. Adam tried out a couple of guitars. I found a unique looking saxophone and asked to try it. Ajjosshi said it was very expensive. I said yeah? [...]

I was fortunate enough to be a college student in New Hampshire during 2004, when all the potential Democratic nominees were gearing up for the primaries.
I saw just about everyone: Howard Dean, John Kerry, John Edwards, Wesley Clark, Dennis Kucinich, Joe Lieberman, Lyndon Larouche, and Gary Nolan, a libertarian. I really wanted to see Al [...]

I’ve decided to reinvest a lot of time and energy into playing jazz. Up to now, I’ve been commended numerous times for my playing. On a few occasions, I’ve even been told that I’m “the best saxophone player ever”. But, I know that, these people, even if they were sincere, know next to nothing about [...]

Hobo Punk: …he was Hindu right?
Hindu: Gandhi’s killer was Hindu, yes, but… he converted from Christianity.

Warning: In case the title didn’t tip you off, this material is inherently morbid.
I was reading up on black metal music (why not?) and this quickly led me to the story of the band Mayhem, who are noted for a number gruesome occurrences.
One member of the band, named Dead, shot himself in the face, leaving [...]

It sounded simple enough. Last year, I didn’t have to make the trip because my boss went for me (so I could teach classes, and so she could skip out on hers). With all the delays that took place while processing my Visa, there were still a couple of steps left to complete. I had [...]

For those just hopping on board:
I’m back in Seoul Korea for a second round. My hagwon days are over (they lasted from May 06 to May 07) and I’m now working at Yonsei University, one of the top three institutions in the country. My official title is “Administrator and Researcher for the College of [...]

Over the weekend, I was unable to sleep for more than a couple of hours at night. Even if I managed to stay up all day, if I slept from say 11pm to 2am, my body would think of it as a nice long nap because that’s 10am to 1pm EST. The joys of jet [...]
